This is the new google chromeos, because most of our computer time is spent on the internet, why not make an entire operating system just for the internet, this means that your computer will run a whole lot faster and NONE of your files will be stored on your computer instead they will be stored online. If you have or use chrome, then you will know that it also has it's own app store so i doubt you would miss all those applications from windows, OSX etc because the chrome app store is forever adding new apps. This idea of an internet operating system is a good concept but I think I'm happy with my current operating system. If you don't have chrome, download it for free here

Maybe Ill run ChromeOS from a virtual machine...sort of defeats the purpose of its incredible speed but I just want to find out what its like

I just think I would miss programs like photoshop visual basic etc but good for people who only use their computers for internet purposes

i wouldn't want it but some might. it wont sell much untill speed is proven and you can run programmes and games quickly off it it will take a while to top mac and even longer to top windows

But the OS isnt in regular chrome and if u switch to chrome OS you cant do anything but the internet but it has heaps of free apps

Cant tell you sorry I think its just because its made by google and google has almost every site in its directory so it might be finding the URL through its own directory making it faster. Just a theory though haha
